I really enjoyed looking at Trotmans' pieces and was interested in his expression; his pieces had machine parts and moved. Although I haven't taken a picture of it, the tapping hand was my favorite piece because even though it was simple, I never really thought about such a common action being captured in art. I also liked that Trotman worked in wood, which is a more conventional material than plastic, but less traditional than paint or drawing on canvas. The fact that Trotman made life-size sculptures also helped his audience relate more his work.
Even though the artist's work itself is very impressive, I personally thought Trotman's philosophy on people in the corporate world of business and money was somewhat stereotypical. Many people believe that men and women who work in the corporate are corrupt and live in a pretense. However, I believe that such people simply lead a different life and have a different outlook on life than Trotman. One may even ask Trotman what right he has to judge another's lifestyle. Although I understand Trotman's disgust of the coporate world as his banker of a father felt embarrassed by his son, I don't necessarily agree with Trotman's philosophy. Despite my disagreement with Trotman's reason behind his work, I still believe his technique and ideas are interesting.
